From the start-up of the Ma-Chis Economic Development Board, Judge Johnson has worked, as a team player, toward the economic development of the Ma-Chis Nation and on July 28, 2005 the Tribe was Certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as 8(a) SDB and was able to market and be awarded U.S. Government contracts. One of the visions of Judge Johnson is to allow this certification to be a stepping stone in a long path that will allow the Ma-Chis Tribe to become self-sufficient. |

Judge David Johnson is a member of the Ma-Chis Lower Creek Indian Tribe and has served many years toward making a positive difference. A recipient of numerous awards, Judge Johnson is still dedicated to do whatever he can to assist humanity. To list a couple: "HUMANITARIAN OF THE YEAR 1995" from the Ma-Chis Nation, and on May 20th 2000 Judge Johnson was honored with "JUDICIAL VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD". Judge Johnson was selected by the nine Supreme Court Justices, from information sent to the court from the Alabama Unified Judicial System around the State of Alabama. It was awarded by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court State of Alabama, Perry O. Hooper Sr. and signed by all Supreme Court Justices. Judge Johnson is Commander, of the American Legion Post 78 Samson AL and Chairman, of the House Committee, for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6622 in Opp, AL as well as a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Charter Member of the Native American Veterans Association where he sits as Director of the Board. As a Warrior, David Johnson is proud to have served our Country in Combat. He is glad of humble beginnings, born 1949 and raised on a farm, played on a State Championship Basketball Team, worked in the music business in the 1960’s and now has his own Gospel CD and has appeared on worldwide telecast around the World. Married to a childhood sweetheart, Brenda Bowers in 1971, they now have three married daughters and five grand children. |
